The birthplace of the caipirinha, Piracicaba has a lot more to offer than the cachaça-based drink.Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Basílica Santuário Santo Antônio de Pádua and Cachoeira Saltao. Shop till you drop at Shopping Piracicaba and Mercado Municipal de Piracicaba. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Piracicaba: Tres Quedas Waterfall (in Brotas), Indaiatuba Ecological Park (in Indaiatuba), Aguas de Sao Pedro (Juventude Fountain & Monumento das Aguas) and Igreja Matriz de Sao Pedro (in Sao Pedro).
