Discover Bali's royal history at Taman Tirtagangga, a water palace featuring a network of fountains and pools surrounded by well-manicured gardens. Though it looks ancient, the palace complex actually dates back to the 1940s. Carefully restored after a nearby volcano erupted in 1963, the grounds boast an impressive eleven-tiered fountain that forms the centerpiece of the surrounding sculpture gardens. Make a brief visit to photograph these highlights and relax amid the verdant scenery, or plan a longer tour of the terraced countryside to see fertile rice paddies and a number of old temples. • Really lovely place with a lot of nice statues, fountains, and pools. You can walk on some steps in one of the pools, and take some nice pictures, but there might be a lot of people there. You can feed the fish, you will probably see some really big koi fish that have been eating food from all the tourists wanting to take pictures with fish around them. I can definitely recommend this place.
  • Tiny place with only few interesting spots for photos. Lots of green and a decent peaceful walk until you have lots of tourists in the same area that is. You can easily be done in 15 minutes unless you are really into photo taking for Instagram or social media. The whole place looks fabricated. There's also villa next to the park but probably not worth justifying the staying price. Outside there are several shops and restaurants for convenience. The restaurant that is inside the Water Palace, however, seems very overpriced.
