Martigny is the capital of the French-speaking district of Martigny in the canton of Valais in Switzerland. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Lac d'Emosson and Grande Dixence. Get out of town with these interesting Martigny side-trips: Great St. Bernard Pass (in Bourg-Saint-Pierre) and Swiss Vapeur Parc (in Le Bouveret). It doesn't end there: step into the grandiose world of Chateau de Tourbillon and take an in-depth tour of Barryland - Musee Et Chiens Du St-Bernard.
