Often described as the city of laptops and lederhosen, Munich is an international center of business, engineering, research, and medicine that still maintains a rich cultural heritage and age-old traditions.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Deutsches Museum and Munich Residenz. There's lots more to do: contemplate the long history of Nymphenburg Palace, don't miss a visit to Marienplatz, enjoy breathtaking views from Frauenkirche, and contemplate in the serene atmosphere at St. Peter's Church.
