Nitra is a city in western Slovakia, situated at the foot of Zobor Mountain in the valley of the river Nitra. Get out of town with these interesting Nitra side-trips: Trnava (Mala Synagoga Trnava & St. John the Baptist Cathedral), Bojnice (SNM - Bojnice Castle Museum & Bojnice Zoo) and Banska Stiavnica (Schemnitz Gallery, Old Castle Banska Stiavnica, &more). There's still lots to do: step into the grandiose world of Nitra Castle, don't miss a visit to Beckov castle, steep yourself in history at Trenciansky Hrad, and explore the ancient world of Cachtice Castle.
