Kosice — 3 nights

Kosice has long been a hidden medieval gem.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to St. Egidius Basilica and Radnicne Namestie. Change things up with these side-trips from Kosice: Betliar (The Manor House Betliar & Goticky kostol sv. Alzbety) and Bardejov (Wine house & Archival Bastion). Drive from Kosice to Vysoke Tatry in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train; or take a bus. Traveling from Kosice in October, Vysoke Tatry is little chillier at night with lows of 2°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 9th (Sat) early enough to drive to Terchova.

Terchová is a large village and municipality in the Malá Fatra mountains in the Žilina District in the Žilina Region of northern Slovakia.HistoryThe village was established in 1580, but the area was inhabited even before its establishment. Explore hidden gems such as Janosikove Diery and Hrad Lietava. Explore Terchova's surroundings by going to Museum of Orava Village (in Zuberec), SKI PARK Kubinska hola (in Dolny Kubin) and Liptovsky Jan (Mini Slovensko & Stanisovska Jaskyna). Trencin — 3 nights

Trenčín is a city in western Slovakia of the central Váh River valley near the Czech border, around 120km from Bratislava. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Trenciansky Hrad and Danubius Health Spa Irma. Venture out of the city with trips to Cachtice Castle (in Cachtice), Bojnice (Museum of prehistory & Bojnice Zoo) and Piestany (Jesus"s Saint Heart Chapel & The Colonnade Bridge). There's still lots to do: make a trip to Cicmany, admire the local landmark of Vodnik, contemplate the long history of Mestska Veza, and take in the architecture and atmosphere at Roman Catholic Church of the Birth of Virgin Mary.

Banská Štiavnica is a town in central Slovakia, in the middle of an immense caldera created by the collapse of an ancient volcano.
